Architectural Storytelling, Architectural Projection
Self presented as part of the New Light Industrial program
Harts Mill, Port Adelaide
Harts Mill Re-animated was presented in May 2014 at the opening weekend of the new Harts Mill public park.
Harts Mill Inhabited is the story of Hart’s Mill, told through animation mapped to the architectural features of the five story building. The story is told as though through the eyes and experiences of the Harts Mill itself, as if it is a character of many years’ knowledge telling the younger buildings on the western shore of the Port River, what it has seen and may yet see.
Illuminart developed the story through consultation with local groups and interested residents of Port Adelaide. It was South Australia’s first fully animated building son et lumiere incorporating narrative projection, presented in 2009. To celebrate the new Harts Mill public park, it was restaged on the 9th and 10th of May 2014 with the support of Arts SA, Renewal SA, Port Adelaide Enfield Council, Port Adelaide Enfield Chamber of Commerce, and other supporters.
Loved the show last night and the super friendly ushers. Well worth the money. Fantastic story telling. Thank youSonya Irlam
